PENDRILL OPEN DISCO COMPETITION
Rules at the competition:
• Numbers should be worn on the back.
• Make-Up – lots! :D
• Miss Katie will help our U6’s if needed
• No acrobatics until the final in any event
•Use of recording equipment is not permitted at any Disco freestyle competition e.g., video cameras / phone cameras etc. This also includes live broadcasts on Social Media Platforms and Video calls
• Suitable footwear compulsory for RnR (Jazz shoes) & Street (Trainers)
• No dress restrictions for any event. As many Sparkles as you’d like!
• No dance school logos or uniform to be worn.
Pendrill Disco Dance Competition
Local Disco Schools host competitions where all the schools attend in a friendly setting, these are called ‘Open’ Competitions. This is where dancers have an opportunity to enjoy the competition day, win trophies and build confidence.
Pendrill’s Dance Competition is Sunday 23rd November 2025
Clacton leisure Centre
There is a first time section for solo & pairs - which the majority of our competitior’s will compete in, I will be there to help assist which categories to get up in.
Dancers will compete in:
Disco Pairs:
By this time all partnerships should be sorted for the 25/26 competition, dancers will dance their disco pairs routine learnt in class with their usual partner
Disco Solo:
Dancers will compete in First timer, Beginner & Starter Categories by themselves, they will learn this routine in class
Teams:
This will be the debut for our new teams that practice each week in their designated classes:
U12 Team- First Edition
U16 Team- Unleashed
Rock & Roll:
By this time all partnerships should be sorted for the 25/26 competition, dancers will dance their RnR routine learnt in class with their usual partner
Street Solo or Slow Solo
They can choose 1 to compete in, I would recommend street solo as we would have learnt that for the previous competition.
What to wear:
A lot of costumes can be bought second hand from dance wear selling pages on Facebook, vinted, ebay etc.
There are local dance costume makers in the area if you would like bespoke costumes made please contact them on their Facebook pages
The Rawe Edge, Dance Booth Designs, DanceWear by Andrea, Prima Dancewear.
There are many local dance mums who ‘stone’ (diamanté) costumes for a small charge if you would like the sparkle.
If you need help please contact Miss Katie. A plain black leotard can be worn for all dances if you are feeling overwhelmed.
Team costumes & prices will be communicated with you as soon as possible.
Disco Pairs:
This can be plain or sparkly but has to be the same as your partner.
Its recommended no skirts/dresses or loose fitting clothing
Disco Solo:
Same as disco pairs, can be sparkly or plain wear, individual to you.
Rock & Roll Pairs:
Rock and Roll Dresses
Jazz shoes must be worn
& Leg warmers.
Street Solo:
Casual ‘Street’ Wear, Joggers, Crop tops, Basketball shorts, Army print.
TRAINERS MUST BE WORN
Slow Solo:
Lyrical dresses, Leotards with skirts encouraged.
TICKETS NEED TO BE REQUESTED BY 12PM FRIDAY 3RD OCTOBER!!!
